Logan

‘Bad shit happens to people I care about. – Logan

Based on the trailer I was enticed to see this action packed film from a franchise that I have never really been interested in. Having missed it in the cinema and due to rave reviews of at least four stars I bought the DVD and after a few technical difficulties I played it and honestly,,, I was disappointed.

This isn’t me saying that the film was completely terrible but just that I got bored very very quickly.

In 2029 after all the glitz and glamour of being one of the X-Men has faded, Logan (Hugh Jackman) is a hire limo driver who is gradually losing his power.  He is then approached by Gabriela (Elizabeth Rodriguez) to take child mutant Laura (Dafne Keen) to Eden, a safe haven away from the company that created her.

For someone who has never seen anything Wolverine or X men related I was able to pick up on the relationships and understand what was going on with ease. But with no particular interest in the franchise after seeing everything shown by the trailers the novelty of this cool action movie wore off and I remained barely focus for the remaining two hours. I was so disengaged from the verisimilitude of the film that I started to notice things that I wouldn’t normally.

Although, there were some great action scenes featuring Jackman and Keen the film still lacked the spark from the trailer and went on way too long.
